2017 Spring/Summer

Spring season has just begun so time to shop for some new outfits!

Here are my 4 must-haves for your casual spring/summer look:

Denim &  flower embroidery: A pair of blue or white jeans with flower embroidery or alternatively an embroidered denim shirt (e.g. Viki Shirt Blue by Soaked in Luxury, seen at Siennagoodies). Also great: the striped button-down shirt from Scotch & Soda with third eye embroidery.

Shirt dress: in bootleg blue, blue and white striped, or again, in a light blue denim.

White leather sneakers: yep, you just cannot get around them any longer, not this year.

Flower prints: e.g. a Japanese-inspired bomber jacket.

From left to right: embroidered jeans from Top Shop; white Koki Lizard Trainer from Whistles; flower bomber jacket from Promod; Destiny Trim Loafers in Pink Metallic Leather from Office.

Make space for some new shoes. Exchange ballerinas with new pointed flats and get a pair of white (tennis style) sneakers, which are still a must have. In Brussels people are crazy about Adidas’ Stan Smith sneakers (can you imagine, you can get 157 different Stan Smith models in the Belgian Adidas online store? You can even personalize your pair with e.g. your initials). Also, did you know that Stan Smith is the name of Adidas’ first leather tennis shoe? I did not. Plenty of other brands do great models as well for example Whistles with its Koki Lizard Trainer (from £120.00). I personally prefer leather loafers as for comfy yet a bit more elegant footwear, I got a pair from Office (if not in white, why not go a bit more funky with pink metallic as picture above). You can also still wear last year’s espadrilles. All of them go really well with a pair of jeans or a denim or shirt dress. Once temperatures rise a bit more, switch to a pair of bold flower print shorts or a dress in tropical pink, poinciana, jungle green or pineapple yellow, the choice is yours.
