It is hard to get too excited about cashmere sweaters and dark colors if you can still sit in the park and enjoy the warm sprinkles of sunshine on your face. But now that the frosty temperatures have arrived, so has the desire for an updated wardrobe. What are the key pieces to get this fall/winter? I have made up my mind for you.
Here are my 4 must-haves for your casual fall/winter look:
- Sexy bottoms: leather leggings, shorts or skirt
- Cosy & soft tops: An oversize cashmere/mohair/wool pullover as the antithesis to your leather piece.
- Eyecather: a floral-print midi-dress.
- Totally useless but fun: the ubiquitous faux fur pompom keyring.
From left to right: Mohair Wool Blend Sweater from & other stories from Eur 75,-; fake leather skirt from NafNaf from Eur 44,99; Furla Bubble keyring in colour lampone from Eur 75,-; Floral print midi Marcher dress from Essentiel Antwerp from Eur 265,-.
It is actually too tough a choice, so personally I went for both leather leggings (e.g. Calzedonia) and a short leather skirt (shorts, skirts and trousers seen e.g. at Kure); the mini skirt is one of the few items to go with overknee boots which are back this season. It is also ok to wear turtlenecks again (we should have seen that coming, with turtlenecks already all over spring/summer wear). I am still searching for the perfect cosy grey oversize pullover, this is actually not as easy as it would seem! If you want to go big, you may want to go for an emerald green faux fur jacked (e.g. seen from Michal Kors or a little less bold, in black from & other stories). Oh and of course the fake-fur pompom keyrings. Furla has really cute ones, if you want to spend less, you can also find them at Zara (from Eur 9,95).
